I liked Richa's approach of having short but frequent classes during the week - 1 hour x 3 times/week . It worked better for me as compared to 2 hours session once per week. She was clear about what I would need to study and how much time I would need in order to reach A2 level Dutch proficiency in certain number of months. She was supportive and flexible when needed. The additional practice material she shared was helpful in exercising the language beyond the textbook. Lessons with her have helped me pass the A2 level exam (inburgeringsexamen) and I am continuing on to Level B1.

I was studying Dutch by myself but felt like I was getting nowhere. Then I had a call with Richa and she advised me to start with A1. So, I joined The Dutch Door last year for A1. I am very glad to have found The Dutch Door for learning Dutch. I have so far completed A1 and A2 levels and have just started with B1.1. I really appreciate quite a few things about the levels I have done so far. 1. The grammar is taught very well. The basics are taught very clearly. 2. The batch is small - maximum 8 students. So, the teachers can pay individual attention. This group size is also ideal for practicing basic speaking. 3. The textbook used for A1 (Nederlands voor kinderen) is perfect for beginners who are familiar with Devnagari script as the multi-vowel words in Dutch language are explained in Devanagari which makes it very easy to understand. 4. The teachers are sincerely interested in the progress of the students and the focus is not on merely "completing the syllabus". Overall, I will definitely recommend The Dutch Door to anyone who is interested in learning Dutch.

Ik zag mijn vrouw naar Dordrecht komen en ze leerde de taal stap voor stap. Het begon met weinig Nederlandse woorden en korte zinnen. Zo leerde zij steeds meer en meer. Ze kreeg opdrachten om te maken als huiswerk. Het systeem dat Richa bij “The Dutch Door” gebruikt werkt heel goed. Ze weet heel goed waar te beginnen en wat belangrijk is voor een goede basiskennis voor de Nederlandse taal. Mijn vrouw ging met grote stappen vooruit, en ik sta versteld hoe snel ze alles tot nu toe heeft geleerd. Ze verstaat alles en verbetert zelfs mij in sommige zinnen. Absolutely recommend The Dutch Door® for anyone looking to learn Dutch! I started at the A1 level and I'm now progressing through A2. The classes are fantastic - they're kept small which allows for a lot of interaction and getting pushed outside your comfort zone in a positive way. Karthik does a brilliant job of explaining grammar basics and general concepts, using lots of clear examples to make it easy to understand. The classes are also engaging - we do fun exercises like role playing from books, which make learning more enjoyable. Overall, I've had a very positive experience at The Dutch Door® . The teachers, Richa and Karthik, are both excellent. I've learned so much already and I'm confident I'll keep improving. I really enjoyed the A1 course, which provided me with a good foundation in Dutch. The course book 'Nederlands voor Kinderen', with its lovely illustrations, made everything easy to follow and understand. Unlike other books that dive into examples too quickly, this one goes step-by-step from letters and vowels to sentences, building a solid foundation first. The classes were engaging and I looked forward to attending them. The teachers are clearly passionate about the language, which made learning Dutch much easier for me. I have completed my A1 with The Dutch Door and it was a great success! Honestly, I was a bit sceptical at first if I would be able to grasp the language through distance learning, but Karthik made the learning process much enjoyable. We could always go to him for the tiniest of doubts. I think my most favourite aspect of this class was Richa’s textbook, which had everything in it to give one a well-rounded foundation in Dutch. My trainer was very professional, considerate and understanding. She went out of the way to help me prepare for the exam that was very unexpected owing to the COVID 19 related scenario at that time. Richa is an amazingly adaptable teacher, willing to do whatever it takes to best match one’s learning style. I was selected to attend a university in Europe, and had a mere three months to learn Dutch at the A2 level - a task that seemed almost insurmountable at the outset. Despite the limited time, and the relatively steep learning curve, Richa’s ‘ground-up’ teaching technique and focus on instruction through practice helped me through to the finish line. The course content has been structured well. Richa is a very patient teacher who makes the classes fun. The group of five students in total made it possible to give personal attention. That way could make good friends too! I would have liked one exam or test at the end of the course to know where we stand. It's important to assess what has been taught. Further, since some of them are applying for job, and some for visa purpose, a class could have been devoted to each student to guide them specifically for their purpose. Hoi! I started learning Dutch even before I met Richa and Dutch Door Pune. I had completed A1 elsewhere but was not fully satisfied with it...in short, wasn't 'value for money'.
